An Aliexpress order I placed on June 9th showed up yesterday. Shipped via Singapore Post.

Still waiting on orders placed on Feb 28th and May 7th. They're Cainiao orders and are sitting on Accepted by Last Mile Carrier.

Just got a package from Ali Express yesterday mailed mid July. But not sure of the carrier since the envelope had been covered over with a NZ Post label with small print saying UCL Company.

I have been trying to resist the urge to order things from Aliexpress since March. I thought about giving it a go now and after reading some of this post, I think I just keep resisting that urge for a while longer.

It's actually not that bad, so far I've only had one item blow past it's not-delivered-by date and that wasn't a biggie.

Seems all the free shipping items are now $1.58 or so on aliexpress standard shipping. If that gets them here faster then all good. I have just put an order in for some knockoff filters for my Ryobi stick vac because that's probably faster and easier than trying to get them thru bunnings.

Item ordered on 11 July arrived on Friday (14/08), seems to be slowly getting back to normal.

My order is on the slow plane from China.

  • Ordered 14th of July
  • Dispatched 21st July
  • Accepted by airline on 21st July
  • Departed country of origin on 24th of July

That aircraft has been airborne for over three weeks now. 😄

I think the delivery time probably depends on which service the seller uses to send the goods. So not a direct function of AliExpress. In other words one persons experience will have little bearing on another persons experience.

For mine it's coming up to three months. OTOH I don't recall ever ordering something from Ali and not have it arrive, so it'll be a bit of a pain to file a dispute next week when the timer expires because I'm still expecting it eventually.

Get 3 parcels coming with different shipment method

2 via SG, one is 4PX Singapore Post OM Pro, with tracking number UBxxxxSG

According to the number, this should be an untracked item.

The second one is AliExpress Standard Shipping but turns out to be via SG, with number LPxxxxSG

The number means it is a registered air-mail.

The final one is China Post Registered Air Mail, with number LExxxxCN.  I chose ePacket on the order but apparently the seller chose a cheaper one.

UBxxxxSG was handed over to airline on 11 July and I received no further update.

LPxxxxSG outbound from China on 24 July and dispatched from Singapore on 1 Aug, no clue did it arrived in NZ or not.

LExxxxCN, the most recent order, handed over to airline in China on 17 Aug.

None of the items via SG appear on NZPost tracking, but it showed 'picked up' for the China Post one.

This should be an interesting race.

What I have noted is that, sellers may not use the specific shipping method you selected from the free shipping range.

Especially when there are extra notes in the order, e.g. combined orders.

It may be a good idea to avoid sellers who list shipping via SG as one of their shipping methods.

AliExpress Standard Shipping sometimes goes via Singapore Post. I've never had a slow delivery using AliExpress shipping, but I would avoid any items sent via Singapore Post directly.

That said, I had an AliExpress Standard Shipping package via Singapore Post go into "Shipment cancelled" state last week. The seller is claiming the package was returned, so that may be indicative of a problem routing packages that way.

Even deliveries via DHL/FedEx aren't always fast as they often seem to route packages via freight forwarders to other countries, taking a week (normally) before they are handed over to DHL/FedEx.

+1 on avoiding Singapore Post. If you want your package to take six months to arrive, go for the SG shipping. If you want it in a few weeks, go for Yu Shiang Whole Fish Shipping, Alley #21, Shenzhen. No idea why SG is so bad at shipping stuff while an unknown Chinese package service gets it here in no time.

How long should I wait for goods I have not received?

Order placed 24 April 2020 value NZ$8.08

Despatched 13 May using Cainiao Super Economy.

Accepted by Last Mile Carrier in NZ 6 June.

Now 19 Aug.... package has been in NZ (last mile carrier) 74 days

None of the tracking numbers (2) show up on NZ Post - Tracking.

As the buyer protection ran out I raised a Dispute with Aliexpress for a Refund.

The seller keeps asking me to cancel the Dispute.

Only cancel the dispute if the goods arrive. Do not accept a refund via Paypal as they will usually send it as a payment for goods. As you aren't sending anything, they can file a claim with Paypal for goods not received.

Just because the goods are in NZ (which they may not be, the last mile carrier isn't always indicated when it gets to NZ Post), doesn't mean it will arrive. In October/November, NZ Post lost an Amazon order of mine in transit to the local depot.
