shinychrome : thank you, I've never thought to look at the Oz site for BRs.

No problem. There is definitely a few choice things we don't get here, sales aside. Some either don't make it, or are on sale for a few months, then disappear.

I had to get Mad Max: Fury Road, John Wick 1, and Interstellar or Inception (can't remember, one of them is available here) since they weren't available here on UHD Blu-ray.

Next sale I'll be grabbing The Matrix and Kong: Skull Island, both of which aren't readily available here.

So, on Saturday I went to coffeemachineparts.co.nz and ordered two new group head O-rings and a set of feet for the coffee machine. On Monday I got a surprise notification from Australia Post that my package was awaiting departure in Melbourne. Oh no, says I, and confirms that coffeemachineparts.co.nz is indeed coffeemachineparts.com.au, and resigned myself to another couple of months of holding the group head in with one hand so it didn't explode everywhere while making a coffee, and/or finding another local source for the o-ring. Anyway ... they arrived at our place on Friday. Given that we are rural which always adds at least one extra day, that was quite the surprise.

The Tiles are still stuck in Sydney.

Off topic : why buy Blu Rays from JB-Oz? Are they cheaper than JB-NZ?

He inserted a State of Origin Complete Collection disc in a NZ player and it spat it straight back out again, so he figured he'd get better treatment from an Aussie one instead.

They must be catching up now, my 18-6 package arrived today. What do watch this weekend then... choices, choices...

@SaltyNZ, they must know that coffee is an essential service. 5 days for rural delivery from Melbourne is pretty impressive.

I have an item coming from Melbourne sent on the 14th of July - tracking with NZ Post app and Parcels app it shows 16/7 02:13 Departure from country of origin. Your item is in transit to NZ, but then the most recent one 16/7 14:13 shows Cleared and awaiting international departure.

The Australia Post site/app only shows the 'cleared...awaiting...' and doesn't show the previous status that is has departed. I know to expect delays, I was just wondering what might be going on here. Is the Australia post site slow with updates or something triggered a false notification it had been sent?

Not here yet (Chch), but not as bad as I feared.  Ordered July 7, sent from Mel to Syd overnight, I guess it'll arrive here in a couple of days - so within the 7-10 days estimated delivery (Kogan/Dick Smith) when I placed the order.

No movement since Monday - according to tracking, the package is still in Auckland.

This had been in Chch since last Thursday.  I'm going away and wanted / needed the package (new phone - my old nexus 5x is about to completely crap out).  So I called them - it was still sitting in their "driver's bay" - so I collected it from there.  This was an order from Kogan, they did their part ok in Aus- local "courier" was the problem.

And by the most amazing coincidence, one day after moaning here, both Blurays have just arrived (in separate boxes). Knew I should have moaned here about 3 weeks ago..

Going to try this technique myself. I'm expecting a package from Japan (which usually comes via Australia) and it's been 'in limbo' on the tracking for 11 days. Hopefully this post unjams it :)

Good luck, though I feel it my duty to warn you that success is only guaranteed when the moaning in question is coincidental, and not part of a plan to actually induce delivery.

Although I have heard that the ritual burning of traffic warden notebooks at midnight might be worth a shot.

The thought did cross my mind!

It has made it to Auckland, after 15 days. A far cry from the 3-4 days these used to take before Covid, but at least it's not lost.

I had an item sitting at Tokyo airport for two weeks, it left earlier today. Which is interesting for an item sent from South Carolina, so I have no idea where it's left Tokyo for. Possibly Zambia.

It looks like Japan's getting back to normal: Two days from Tokyo to Auckland. I wonder whether it'll turn up at my house tomorrow...

The above turned up today. Told you it wouldn't take long. The boxes said airmail. Maybe the air was contained in a not-very-hot air balloon that took the scenic route via Old Zealand.

Amazingly (not), stuff from China also arrived today - sent on 16th of this month. 8 days (free postage I think) vs 3 months ($25.50 postage)...

My JB-HiFi Aus experiece is the same, Blu-rays ordered in May arrived two months from the shipping date, or one month earlier than the expected delivery date. My next orders from July, one arrived after 3 months and 3 weeks, the others are still yet to arrive. So it does look like things are getting slower.

I did try their customer support, but they will only enquire with Australia Post after I have enquired with NZ Post. The very next day my oldest July order arrived, so will give it another few weeks on the rest.
