Hahaha.... this is the kind of in-depth tech chat I come to Geekzone for.

Next thread, we should discuss the effect bugs crawling in to a computer case has on the system.

You obviously never worked in tech support. I never worked in that area of IT but heard some interesting... stories.

You should share them. How about a new forum: Animal technology interface

TV's with broken screens used to be useful for cats.

No kidding, I once found a pretty decent sized (dead) RAT *inside* an old ATX power supply. I have a photo somewhere. Freaky.

The computer had been working up until a few days before and failed for an apparently unrelated issue (HDD).

I'm not worried about bugs crawling on the case, it's all the bugs crawling through the software that are the pain.

When I was a youngster, a mouse (the kind with whiskers and legs) ran into the cartridge port of our commodore 64. Didn't damage anything thankfully.

If we don't pay attention to our cat while watching TV, it will go up to the screen and start pawing at it. Luckily it doesn't use it's claws, but it is a way that it uses to get attention.

That would sure get your attention if you had just outlaid 8K on a whopping OLED!!

Not IT but ... we used to get live possums trapped in the maize silo on our farm.

It was quite a process to extract a live possum from 10 foot down in the maize silo, through a 300mm opening, without getting scratched  while clinging to the external ladder, about 15 feet above the ground.

Not sure why you would think your tv is exempt cat scratchs?

PsychoSmiley: I feel in these instances there is something more behavioural going on with the cat as that's not normal

This is very normal. It is not a behavioral problem.
