We’re a very weird mob us. A bit scary.

Imagine if we had a convention at a hotel. Can't go anywhere as someone keeps locking the doors, brawls at the clothesline... :-)

As I read this entire thread I scoured my brain trying to think what my strange habit is.  I concluded I don't really have one.  Except...

1. I tend to double-space when typing.  But I don't really count this as a strange habit, just a convention picked up from learning to type on a typewriter.

2. I'm also a devil for spelling, and even if I know that my message/email will be understood (for instance, "yiu" for "you" I will religiously go through and correct it - hate sending mispelled messages.  Even as I write this, I've gone back several times to correct mistyping).

I toast my bread in odd numbers. It's either 1 slice or 3. If it's only a 2 slice toaster, I toast them 1 at a time.

Towels need to be folded my way. I will refold them if the family has not done it right

Everything on my work desk has to be straight. Crooked does not work for me.

Ironing clothes needs to be done in a specific way with creases done correctly.

Looking at car vehicle licenses - hangover from my time at NZTA perhaps?

Always left shoe on first.

Just the ones I can remember so far.

People have pointed out I swill my drinks before every sip without fail. Even water.

Not sure if it’s weird, more a habit crossed over from not letting tea/coffee settle.

Oh another big one for me is time, I will always be early for appointments, this can be anywhere from 30 - 60 minutes before hand, i will find a park and sit in my car and wait.

I am always working out the best time efficient way of doing something or going somewhere.

Once we have made a plan you better not change it unless you give me notice lol.

Car Number plates - I convert the letter mnemonics to words, or other 3 word titles - most wont make sense. HQT = Heavy Quantum Theory. MEK = Methyl Ethyl Ketone. HPB - Hairy Phat B@stard (it's my BIL car, and suits him πŸ˜„.)

Also on car number plates, I associate the numbers with integrated circuits and other semiconductors I have used in the past  - 4040, 7400, 6502, etc.

I unerringly will jump in puddles, especially after rain ...

Whilst walking, I will randomly go on a tangent of some sort. Probably looks like a drunken stagger .. but without the drunk bit ...

I think my mind gets bored and gets mischievous if it is not actively involved in doing something ...

A bit of self-contradiction here? πŸ€” πŸ˜€

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

I often find myself reach out and brushing my hand against the wall, as walk down the hall at work.

Since my brain injury a few years back everytime I'm internalising something I speak it out silently like I'm talking to myself. I catch myself mostly when sending emails but it can happen at anytime my brain is internally querying something, maybe another reason why I hate emails now. Sometimes other people notice but I don't care enough, just grateful I've got my life back together since then.
