How do you feed into Windy? It seems to be a read-only site... they credit Blitzortung so do they take the data from other sites?

The red warning seems very much overkill for ChCh Central. We get surface flooding out back, thats there but its been worse other times with long term steady rain. While not affecting us, I imagine autumn leaves, despite that its not heavy incessant rain will cause flooding elsewhere

Hmmm....

Stuff headline says "worse to come", Windy, Earth Nullschool, and Metservice rain radar suggest otherwise for Chch metro, at least in terms of rainfall.

Agree. Light to medium rain, 1/4 inch in the hour at 6pm. To me, its like a few days of Autumn/Winter rain, as does happen, nothing to see here

Here's a tweet from NIWA with a good graphic showing where the rain is expected:

Link to NZTA Cant'y road closures:

https://www.journeys.nzta.govt.nz/traffic/regions/11?layers=road-closures

So far only SH73 (Arthur's Pass route) closed between Springfield and Castle Hill and SH79 between Geraldine and Fairlie closed.

I do think that's probably just the start, but we'll see.

I don't know where they're getting their Auckland forecast from - for the last 3 days I've been told it's going to be raining/heavy downpours/hail/windy...but I'm yet to see any of this eventuate.

Apart from a 20 minute light sunshower on Thursday and some rain this morning, it's been sunny the entire time!

@neb you can feed directly into it. I use Cumulus MX as my software which has a section for it.

Have you got people in hi-vis jackets in your Street looking at the problem, but not fixing anything?

We have had them here for a while, nothing achieved so far!

So NIWA admits that even the rain that's falling doesn't believe the Metservice's predictions.

(Apologies if this counts as a grammar nit).
