I get these calls so often I don't bother mentioning them anymore. All the variations, unusual credit card charges, Spark technical, etc. I like to string them along because it wastes their time, but they are becoming better at sensing that and often just disconnect.

The one I dealt with recently couldn't figure out I was obviously onto them..... he only hung up after I was asking him questions :D

Using "legit" spoofed Christchurch numbers today!
The pause, then all the Indian accents and scam center noise in the background!
I said "What are you scamming today?"
Pause - then hang up was their response!
I just got a call from Daniel at Spark who politely asked how I was today. I said I'm fine, how is the scamming business? There was a long silence, followed by a click.

Ditto for the Amazon Prime scam today - blocked and flagged as spam. Using the same base number as above: +61 431 112 856.
Followed within the half hour by a call from a German number (which I ignored, then blocked and flagged as spam): +49 710 385 553
Rinse and repeat I guess ....
Check my phone number and various email addresses on 'Have-I-been-pwned' - no hits.
I'm getting non-stop Facebook scams now I've cut off my landline. They're just as much fun.

I've probably had 10-12 "Visa" calls recently.
FYI - I worked for Visa for 2.5 years...they don't ever deal direct to cardholder - they will only talk to your bank. If you have any issues with your Visa card your bank (or issuer of choice) will speak to you about it, but it'll have nothing at all to do with Visa themselves.
Also - delivery calls "the Amazon parcel you ordered...blah blah", alongside more from "Spark".

After checking https://haveibeenpwned.com/
I see that my mobile number was exposed in a Facebook breach. I didn't even know there had been one!
Facebook: In April 2021, a large data set of over 500 million Facebook users was made freely available for download. Encompassing approximately 20% of Facebook's subscribers, the data was allegedly obtained by exploiting a vulnerability Facebook advises they rectified in August 2019. The primary value of the data is the association of phone numbers to identities; whilst each record included phone, only 2.5 million contained an email address. Most records contained names and genders with many also including dates of birth, location, relationship status and employer.
Compromised data: Dates of birth, Email addresses, Employers, Genders, Geographic locations, Names, Phone numbers, Relationship statuses

I had a run of them recently pretty much always in the evenings. Basically I'm suspicious of all unknown numbers and suspect if you answer one call, you then get a flood of them!
I just decline and add to spam calling list, which seems to have stopped the calls. PITA!
It must be really fun working in any Spark department that has to call customers, as pretty much everyone they call probably just hangs up as soon as they say "I'm calling from Spark". I know I do. One day they might actually need to talk to me about something and they'll be out of luck since they can't stop scammers taking their name (and phone lines) in vain.
We advise clients not to take actions based on incoming calls. They should call inbound to the companies official numbers and deal with it that way. Even if it's legit, the convenience is offset by significant risk.
Same with incoming requests for a change in account payment details. Should be verified by phone and a second email.
I never do business of any kind over the phone. That is also what I used to tell charity cold callers. If I want to make a transaction of any kind, I research it first and then take the initiative. I never to respond to invitations of any kind.

Whilst at the supermarket this morning, I had a call from a mobile number I did not recognise: Hello, it's Daniel from Amazon. A suspicious transaction...I hung up
