i had the old one card which i never used and they sent me a new card without asking for it so i only use it if i want the discount . Cant be bothered getting it out just to swipe to get to $2000 or what ever to get a $15 voucher, i can save that and more shopping at PaknSave each week.
Common sense is not as common as you think.
Lets hope they sanitise their database queries when they try and look up the name associated with it.
neb:rugrat:I'm sure they don't care what you bring with you, it's what you're buying that they're interested in.
Doesn’t worry me if they know I brought 5 tomatoes last week.
Correct - but I suspect a lot of people missed your point. Pedantry FTW. 😀
Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.
We use Paknsave for our weekly shop.
But it has become noticeable that products we used to buy are no longer available or the veges are just not in the Store but can buy at New World or Countdown (which are quite close).
I have an Everyday Card and the Woolworths App. I prefer the App, but Woolworths don't seem to have a widget so that I can put the barcode on a screen (Android). However, New World do, and I find it saves time (by not having to go into the App).
I also use Stocard for other digital barcodes, but I can't seem to find a way of putting just the barcode onto the screen.

I had entirely the opposite experience. The first I knew they were changing the system, was Late January when I used the Countdown app in store - and they handed me a physical card.
The physical card was immediately thrown away, like the last one, and I continued using the new app as before.
If it wasn't for my NZ Drivers License I wouldn't carry any physical cards anymore - everything is on my phone + watch.
I work for a global Data Protection Software company - But my opinions are my own.
neb: Interesting, has anyone requested and received a physical card, rather than getting one via the initial trade-in? So far it's zero for two.
Yes - I got one within a few days of requesting it. My wife's hasn't arrived, but she's now using my physical card, while I use the Stocard digital version. Worls out a lot better than two cards in the same household - we can get to the points threshold a lot faster.

What's most interesting to me is the scheme branding is bright orange "everyday rewards" with very little obviously linkages to Woolworths/Countdown or any green coloured livery....
Airlines have been sniffing around spinning off (selling) their loyalty schemes for years, but I suspect that the schemes are heavily linked to the parent airlines reputations have always put them off.
Starting a supermarket loyalty scheme without an obvious connection to the parent company tells me that a future sell off to someone like flybys or private equity is firmly on the long term plan...
Qazzy03:
use something like stocard (i do).
+1 for stocard
Not impressed so far. The app seems slow loading, and boots you out to an external web page inside the app (and have to re-enter login details again) when going to some of the links like request physical card.
Also had that confusing thing of being given a physical card in store last month to replace, and told ' don't have to do anything' but obviously isn't linked to existing account or rewards voucher.
Seems to be no way link that card I was given to my account in the app, only option is to request a new card from within the app.
Those gamifying boosts for buying frozen sweetcorn this week doesn't appeal.
Considering Oz has had Everyday Rewards for many many years, it's surprising how poor of an experience it's been, both from a deals perspective and from an app experience.
One has to be financially iliterate to buy stuff just for the sake of boosted points etc. I think Woolworths just thinks most consumers are dumb enough to fall for it.
Save the 400m spent and just give us 400m worth of cheaper groceries. There, transformation complete With awesome PR.

When you are adding a card you have the choice to scan the card barcode or manually enter the cards number at the bottom.
For the digital everyday reward card, I just copied and pasted the number of the card into that section.
I got the number when I first signed up online with my phone so was a simple copy and paste.
Stocard then generates the barcode.
If you cant copy and paste your number, you might have to write it down and manually enter it... if you want to add it to stocard or just use the app.
My wife got the physical card and I put mine on Google wallet

I requested one and had it delivered at the end of January. My wife also requested one but is still waiting for it to arrive.

when i was given a card instore, they scanned both the old card and the new card in a single transaction. the new one ended up linked to my old account. actually, didn't have to do anything.
that should be standard practice, but don't know if it is.
