Oh definitely would never install any App from that lot, in fact you've reminded me about another really horrible aspect to them after this so called"new look and feel" upgrade, when I'm on my browser I keep getting the most annoying nag advertising to install the APP! Grrr so BS, can't even scroll the page until I click on "continue with browser" as if I'm losing out on something, but no it's not a solution for me unfortunately.

I suggest getting something like User-Agent Switcher from the Opera store. Extensions like that can show your browser as Chrome to avoid all the nonsense.

I like that idea,,that's something I'll look into, I know that Opera AdBlock doesn't work to stop it.

Yes it lets me use the site in desktop mode, but a bit unusable on a small phone screen, is rather I had what I had before the "upgrade" which just worked!

Why not just use the app?

The app sucks for listing. It automatically adds ping as a payment option even when never using or selecting it before. Then when relisting, by default it will try and reduce you asking price by a percentage. I think these are quite recent changes

TradeMe tells you to provide feedback via a link on their website. Just one small problem, I'm unable access their website.

Right so I've just spent the last few days looking at second hand vehicle to buy on trademe, a new thing I'm noticing is the vehicle listings look like they are being written by the same person! As in the wording is so similar it's concerning me because I can't pick out the lies or half truths normally found when someone writes their own description! Is this what AI looks like?

"isn't likely to work well on this internet browser"

That's an understatement - it won't work at all.

Why don't they allow the user to make the choice instead of having the door slammed in our faces?

Sh**heads !

Probably because then people complain it's not working properly no matter how many banners and warnings are added to indicate it might not work properly. No need for the language.

You didn't mention your browser. Assuming it's based on Chrome just change your browser agent string to match Chrome.

And they'll complain less when it doesn't work at all ?

I am using Opera and it doesn't seem to have the ability to change the agent string.

I am not fussed about this as the standard Samsung browser works fine; what I am fussed about is how Trademe can't/won't create a decent webpage

According the the W3C validator site, there are 853 errors detailed.

That one is longstanding missing feature for Opera mobile.

Almost any complex website will show failures for those tools. It isn't an indication of how well the site works.

I don't know the answer to that one. If it barely worked or behaved unpredictably I think you'd be even more annoyed.

I agree with you anyway the web should just work and everything should be web. You have my respect for continuing to use TradeMe in any mobile browser ; )

Just recently I started using TradeMe again. I tried hard on Chrome mobile for a few days and then gave up and installed the app. Mobile sites are going the way of the dodo unfortunately.
