who happens to want to do a little freebie for me?

Im after another tattoo, going from my shoulder down to just short of my elbow.  Wanting to blend my geekness plus my family...

Was thinking of two dna strands sort of twisting together (representing my wife and i) and then coming out into two other strands of DNA (to represent my two kids)

Very cool, very geeky.

I have three, have been contemplating my fourth for 7 years now, but still no closer to a decision.

Now 33, and don't regret getting them at all (though none visible while wearing normal business attire).

yeah this would be my fourth one as well, I am just getting addicted.

I've been trying to think for ages of something, and this one just kind of came to me the other day.

One tip, its a bad, bad, bad idea to watch Miami Ink, it just makes you crave one! lol

Yeah best thing you can do is get the artist themselves to do what they think will work - most of the time ideas people have don't translate well to what the needle/ink is capable of.

As long as you've got a really good artist you can't go wrong.

What scares me is just anybody can open a shop and call themselves a tattoo artist - just a quick once-over for hygiene (and from what I'm told by friends in the biz, it's literally a quick walk-through and the certificate is yours).

yeah im quite lucky with my artist, been doing it for 20 odd years, ex LA latino guy called Chino in hamilton, I know that sounds really cliche, but the guy creates amazing work, if you ever need a tatt in hamilton he is the one to go to

20 years experience = gravy. Definately go with the pro.

My mate who I visited in Auckland earlier this year did my engagement tattoo - admittedly he's a newbie, and I'm gonna have the work touched up a bit next year - he'll quite happily tell you "I can't believe you can just open a shop. I can't even believe they'll employ someone like me." hahaha.

The guy who owns the shop can't even tattoo - he just stocks ink and needles and hired artists.

That is a bit insane, considering the implications of a poorly done tatt, goes to show that in anything you need to do your research!

It's just backwards.

Some industries have NO regulations.
Some industries have too many regulations.
