Months. A friend has had his Xbox 360 RROD twice so far, first time took four months to get it sorted, second time was shorter at around 2 months. This was a while ago so it may have improved, but I doubt it. There was a stat in the news recently over the amount of Xbox's that RROD within two years, I can't remember what it was but it was significant.

Ugh, I might look at buying a new 360, probably the best thing to do. I have also heard that because of the new manufacturing process the new consoles are less-prone to RROD's etc.
