awww... nicely said... this is exactly what I consider to be romantic :)) ...a bouquet of super massive black holes for Valentine's Day would the greatest gift EVER!! hahaha...

@nickd, are Kiwi men that shy or that reserved? :)

...cooking is nice or doing the dishes, but it's too common... :)

Haha nice. I reckon us kiwi men can be romantic - it depends on the girl too.. If you real like her/love her then yeah sure buy her flowers.

I think it's more that kiwis in general are a bit more reserved about things than the rest of the world. Prime example of this is watching an American (or British) cop/medical show then watching a NZ version. Lots of yelling and screaming vs. very little. Yes, I'm generalising, oh well.

@oxnsox, nevertheless ... just the sound of it is romantic... :)

@nickd, so it's more similar to the British way of conducting oneself... I assume you're not very into arguing with someone... unfortunately I'm more of that kind... but I think it might be therapeutic for me to hang around laid back kiwi ppl :D

...what kind of women do kiwi men seek?

(this must sound like on a husband hunt :)) but it's really just my curiosity)

A cool chick that's got a good personality and a great sense of humour - good looking too :) likes the outdoors/sporty and of coarse is into her movies, I like to injoy a good DVD or Blu-Ray some evenings - I'm hoping she would be too.

@oxnsox, heheheh... I had do consult the urban dictionary to understand what "crikey" means... I'm learning already :) ...that's the beauty of communicating with different kinds of people on different sides of the planet- you get to know how people think :)

@SepticSceptic, that's a good tip... here everybody hugs everybody, instead of shaking hands... even if you see someone for the first time... so a hug can be a misleading sign

I use to be very romantic in my younger days I'm in my late 30s, but i was the romantic gent, open car doors send roses on her birthdays tell her how great she looks and i meant it. Now though Ive harden up where my romantic ways went out the window years ago. As far as i care woman can open their own door! lol.

I always considered a nice evening walk down the beach, or beside a river, or through some locked-up public parks to be the height of romance. I was shot down a while ago when I said this to a friend and she said that a walk on the beach was the most over-used cliché in the world and she found it unimaginative. She's single, I think I know why. Then again, so am I, so I can't really say much.
