If you are happy with second rate pies, then yeah, you could go there. However, if you want truly amazing pies:
Goldstar Patrick's Pies Bakery & Café
19 Bethlehem Rd,
Bethlehem Town Centre,
Tauranga

Judged by the Bakels competition for the supreme pie award. I pick some up every time I am going past to/from our house at Mt. Maunganui. Chicken Camembert and cranberry is my favourite.

Hamilton
You must try:

I-Japanese:
(3 Collingwood St) I have been going there for lunch for many years and my favourite is teriyaki chicken with tempura vegetables ($17). For dinner I choose the Waikato Set ($41). It is a meal that just keeps coming comprising of; miso soup, salad, teriyaki chicken, beef you cook on hotplate, sashimi, sushi, tempura and fried chicken pieces. If I know I am going there for dinner I will usually fast for the whole day to make sure I can eat it all.
