I guess I should have elaborated a little more - based on current technologies they are not expected to drop much more. That is to say scale of economies of manufacturing are getting close to their peak.

It can be quite surprising how fast those hopes and dreams turn into reality.

Just thinking about those gadgets coming out of Star Trek ;)
