Something to remember here.
It's pretty much useless if you are out of the 3G Broadband Areas. In otherwords, if you live in Auckland, Wellington, Dunedin, or Christchurch you will be all good, but if you live elsewhere then what's the point.

Just sayin'

Might be worth to say where your from in your posts, yeah I am from Christchurch so can actually make some use of this :)

Im on slingshot and cant afford another internet connection as well, this would be great so I can browse trademe or geekzone on the laptop while my desktop is struggling to get the latest episode of something I want to watch downloaded.

I'd use it to sign my iPod touch into the net while on a picnic with the wife while supposedly being romantic.

Wrong. This is a mobile broadband product so it will work anywher with 3G coverage on 2degrees and Vodafone.

You are confusing 2degrees Mobile Broadband and 2degrees Mobile Internet. Very differet services.

It would be awesome. I'd connect it to my Notebook so that I could amuse my niece. She loves bright colour lights :)

A nice side affect is the ability to connect to weebl-stuff so she can watch the Lions and Tigers in Kenya

Thanks
Ryan

I should win it so that I can finish downloading the internet. I only have 1.9GB left to download but my monthly cap has run out. Once I have finished downloading it there will be a backup copy and the world will be safe from evil.

It would use it for when our TelstraClear service doesn't work properly, which currently appears to be 25% of the time.

When not using it, I will hang it around my neck as a fashion statement.

EDIT: While dancing to this:

It looks like I'm using an adblocker. I should consider whitelisting Geekzone in my adblocker or a subscription. The Quick Reply box will appear for me when Geekzone is whitelisted. Hooray for me! If I want to reply to this topic I should click on Compose Reply.

I'm currently waiting and waiting for my connection to Slingshot to come through. It's been over three weeks since I first signed up although a couple of people trying to help me get things sorted I really have no idea when it will be up and go.

This router would allow me to be online and work from home while I wait for Slingshot to do their thing.

Oh yeah, and I can use the router as a torch if the big one hits Wellington and there's no power for a week.

Hello all,

Just to clarify some points.
1) The E5 will work where ever there is coverage. (Either ours or if your in Dunedin for example off Vodafone and it will work of EDGE and 3G)
2) If you are outside our mobile broadband areas (which are Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown) the $6, 50MB national data pack is what you'd want to use: http://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/data-packs
3) If you are inside our mobile broadband areas then you can pick and choose which ever data pack suits your needs the best: http://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/broadbandzone-data-packs
4) The E5 that Mauricio is testing has got 2GB - which is valid for 30-days. As it's already been activated time is ticking on the use of that data. So who ever wins the E5, please get in touch with me via Geekzone so that we can give you an extra GB of data to compensate for some of this lost time.

Cheers!
Bryony
