Ok so my Fiancé, Billy is very clever-super clever infact :)
And he is doing a total of 13 exams, Yes i repeat 13 exams!
Cambridge starts in a week today, and He is doing Stats, Calc, Science and English.
Then 6 NCEA exams- Chem, Bio, Stats, Calc, Physics, English
THEN 3 scholarships- English, Bio and Stats.

There is only one problem, Today was the last time that I will see him for 42 days, which is 1008 hours.
He is turning his cellphone off, and leaving it off because it distracts him. I agree with this, and am all good with it because I want him to do well.

He told me to ring him at home if there was an emergency. I'm just worried because its exam time for me as well, and I'll be under a lot of stress. And unfornutantly he is my outlet, without him I am quite worried about myself.

I will really really really miss him, Anyone have any advice of how I can cope? Yes Yes this might sound rather pathetic to you, but he actually means a heck of a lot to me, and yes I will find this so very hard

I am well underway with my study, and I think if I study hard it can keep me occupied and busy, But not hearing from someone for 42 days... its a horrible feeling. He has told me numerous times that he is doing this for our future together, He wants to be a doctor. So he is really pushing himself. He keeps saying he is doing this for me, and will always be thinking of me and missing me. My mum said "Absence makes the heart grow fonder".... Im not quite sure if I believe this. He gave me his wallet with both eftpos cards and $500 cash in it as a promise to me to stay focused on exams, and also as a promise of our relationship.

Anyone have any advice of how I can cope?

Thanks x

freitasm: Back on topic folks... 42 days is not a long time... Remember, 42 is the answer to the ultimate question on life, the universe and everything.

If you haven't yet, wait for him to coe back and then read the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy...

And of course Don't Panic.

If I was him studying my butt off, I'd appreciate a letter/card/hand made gift every week or so.  Nothing too massive, just something to brighten up the boring monotony of study.

Just an idea Wink

So does that mean no contact at all? No skype/text/email/face-2-face... anything unless emergencies? He must be very dedicated. It seems he cares about your future, which is mighty fine of him.

My theory: If you study really hard, you will distract yourself enough to make the days go faster. You will also ace your exams because you studied heaps. Sort-of win-win.

Yikes, that IS a long time. I hated being away from my fiancee for 3-4 days when I was on tour. What got us through that was talking every day on the phone, even for 2 or 3 minutes, but that's not an option with you huh?

Distraction is the best thing. Maybe look into a new hobby? Perhaps an incredibly addictive video game that you can't leave alone for several weeks?

Errm.. porn?

Anyway pageweon is on to it - even if it's a simple phone call every couple of days at night or something.

I'm sure he will be feeling the same way..
