Hey Guys

I'm currently using an iphone 4 but hate the way it's locked down because Apple have to do it the Steve J way or no way at all .  I'd love to get my hands on an Android based smart phone because it's so open to development.   Anybody know how well it integrates with Exchange for email?

Cheers

Wow, another awesome opportunity to pick up an Android device courtesy of the corporates. Again, really keen to get my hands on an Android phone to compare the overall useability to the iOS of my current iPhone 3GS. When will Apple release an integrated swype equivalent?!

I'd like one to stick on one of these!
http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/electronic/c7b4/

You control it over wifi, so I could wsetup a wifi hotspot and connect to it via 3G, thus controlling the robot remotely! (And knowing where it is via the GPS!)

"Your friends at Skynet bring you the Rovio! Rovio is a robotic webcam with microphone and speaker for 2-way audio. This wi-fi connected bad little bot will stream video and audio to your favorite web-enabled browser anywhere in the world! Use your PC, your MAC, your iPhone, even your PS3 to control Rovio. In this way meatbags will have the illusion of control over the machine. Drive the bot around the house, take pictures of the family and e-mail them to friends. All this can be done from thousands of miles away."

I am currently using two old baked bean cans and a length of string. I find this inconvenient on several counts:

- Having to walk to the person I want to speak to and hand them their can is tiring and frankly makes the whole concept seem a little pointless

- My employer considers lengths of string stretched across the office to be an OSH infringement and if I continue my job may be in jeopardy

- I constantly smell faintly of beans

- Mysteriously I seem to have acquired a circular scar about 8cm in diameter around my right ear

I am not an expert on this Android IDEOS phone, but I suspect it would improve my quality of life substantially by eliminating at least some of the above problems.

I have 3 phones of which 1 working.

1 - Nokia 1209 - Works ! - Vodafone ( bought in india after my fathers phone was stolen, it's an heirloom!  )

2 - Apple Iphone 3g - broken - does not work - Vodafone - bought by my oldest brother, then passed to a younger brother and then to me. Its got so much scratch on the front of it, it's better to ask where there is no scratch ( back by the logo ). It has been dropped off the 4 story building, gave a weird burning smell a week ( still worked then ), has been dropped in the toilet by my brother when was sleepy at night and still worked afterwards :| It has been microwaved slightly by one of the younger kids in the family. .... Not an appatising history.

3 - Telecom R100 - squished - telecom - my fathers older phone that he got recently. He drove over it when he went into the car leaving the phone on the roof.

I tried installing Java on my old iMate Windows Mobile phone by dropping it in a cup of coffee.  A quick rinse under the tap uninstalled Java, but left some of the buttons in "occasional" mode.  Does smell kinda nice though....

Tip of the day - a phone will balance nicely across the top of a coffee cup UNTIL you try to pick the cup up, at which point it WILL fall in!

I have a really cool phone, manufactured only a millenium or two ago... The good thing about it is that it's not "smarter" than me, but I'd love to upgrade...

My samsung SGH-E250V of 3 years (great years I might add) just lost the speaker yesterday so now I have to always use my headset to talk on it and as cool as I look when I'm doing this I wouldn't mind a wee android phone. Please

 Re-made book coverMe

Hello Freitasm,

I am 13 and doing very well at school.
The reason I would benefit from your giveway is that I received an LG GR500 as a gift a while ago and it broke because a guy bumped into me at school while I was texting and it fell on the concrete and smashed and costs too much to get it fixed and isn't really worth it because it's outdated.
I really want an android device and wouldn't settle for a cheap nokia as I wouldn't get to use it like a decent phone.
Please be kind and show some christmas spiritWink

In english at school I also made this book cover for our assignment in photoshop which you may like.

I like Android.
I like the Open Source, democratising politics and culture of Android.
I like the Google services that add value to Android.
I like the ever-growing variety of Android devices available from many sources at many price points.
I like the open approach Google have taken to the Android Market. More of a bazaar than a boutique.
I like the way I can side-load apps from any source.
I like the way I can access any data from any source by any means: USB, bluetooth, wifi, mobile data, sdcard

I have three Android phones: Samsung Galaxy S, Nexus One (Telecom XT flavour) and Vodafone 845. (see photo)

The Vodafone 845 is currently on 2Degrees.

I'd like to have the Huawei IDEOS phone on 2Degrees. I'll sell one of the others. :-)

Yes...please.

My phones.....

My Mobile

This is my mobile and it's useless - can't use it to text, can't use it to make or receive calls, no alarm clock, no internet access, can't play music, no calculator, no camera. As a phone it is bl00dy useless!! AND - it reminds me of my old yellow Nokia 5100! At least I can find out where in the world I am!

I have had an absolutely rubbish week - crook with a bad cold coughing my lungs out, plus now I have ear infection. Oh Yay! I want to upgrade my current phone and move to 2 degrees so this would be perfect and would really make my week!

Thanks.

[Yes - I know this is a GPS and not a phone; my current phone is a Nokia 3120. It has served me well, but it is time for me to upgrade to an Android phone and I am keen to make the move to 2degrees]

I've got a SE G502. Great little phone in its price bracket (when I bought it), albeit a little buggy (it occasionally randomly restarts and claims "inactive sim")

I'd love to get my hands on a smartphone so that I could give app development a crack.
