The instructors will normally wear sunnies so you cant see where they are looking, I didnt have any with me when I did mine because it was at like 7:30 in the morn in winter so still pretty dark, but I dont know what they would do if they cant see where you are looking at.

Yea i find looking at the mirrors every FIVE seconds so distracting , rear view, left and right mirrors.

I mean if i'm going straight i can do rear mirror every 5 sec but all 3 is a little do distracting.

Good memories about my licence testing, I did the whole restricted test in the Westgate car-park, never got above 20km/hr. It was awesome. My 3-point turn consisted of a U-turn & my hill start was driving over a speed bump.

Full test was similar, the guy said he didn't care about my speed and said he knew I would drive like an Aucklander anyway, so-long as I didn't go above 60km/hr in a 50 zone he would be happy. Once again, spent most of the test in the car-park, did a quick stint on the motorway and the whole thing was over and done with in about 20min and we spent the whole test just talking crap to each other, that was only about 7-8 years ago as well.

Ahh, the good ol' days...

PASSED !!

20 minutes , somewhat friendly lady , no hillstart, no 3 point turn, no paralllel parking , semi U-turn , basic u turn, basic roundabout stuff.

I can sleep now !!

Edit: i had a peek at the marking sheet and i saw 92 on the bottom right corner....is that my score ??

My mistake she told me was only stopping behind the give way / stop line a bit too far LOL

Hi, what time do you think would be best to sit restricted drivers license at Westgate?
I'd like to avoid the glare from the sun, traffic and busy parking lots.
A lot to ask for, but just what ever's best possible

Probably during the week, Tuesday/Wednesday, find out what dol day is in your area and do it on a day thats not that, I know in Auckland it gets packed around Wednesday/Thursday. And for time, probably closest to mid-day as possible, so the sun is at its highest and not on an angle that you can face it directly at, so it would be easiest on your eyes I think. Maybe just after mid-day so you dont get the lunchtime rush
