Just dealt with an annoying telemarketing call - from HRV ventilation systems.

So, added myself to the NZ Marketing Association do not call list. Member use of the list is voluntary.

Anyone had good results from that?

The Law Commission (15.20) and the Privacy Commissioner have been floating proposals for a "do not call" list in NZ as part of the privacy act review.

The NZ Marketing Association objected of course.

Looks like submissions closed April 30th.

Current state of play? Looks like the Law Commission has tabled it's final report and the government is due to respond to the law commission recommendations sometime mid year? The online resources are a bit convoluted and spread across several government agencies. Half an hour later I'm not much wiser. Maybe the DNC provision has been dropped already. Anyone in-the-know?
