Unfortunately with 4 kids gobbling up our money we have nothing left over to buy a old rig let alone a new one! The Iconia A500 looks a real cracker and, as long as the kids don't try and eat the Honeycomb OS, it would be a real treat to own!
I need this tablet so I can more efficiently gather research data on radio transmission levels in NZ's central cities, hopefully leading to new technologies in the wireless technology area to create a better internet experience for everyone.
I would love the Acer Iconia tablet to be able to have a decent screensize for reading Hindi and Panjabi on the go. At the moment, I have an X10 mini pro, too small a screen, and a VERY old Axim PDA. The Iconia would mean I could read my "teach yourself" PDFs and vocab lists on a nice big screen, and watch Hindi movies on the go to improve my vocab and pronunciation. In the interests of promoting cross-cultural understanding with the world's largest democracy, and helping me reconnect with the land of my fathers, I think I deserve the Iconia.
A Tablet has been on my wishlist for a long time, but unfortunately for me they are definitely on the want list, not the need list (the need list is food, petrol, bills - its a terrible thing to be responsible for the household budget). A tablet would definitely make my life easier, as well as adding to my contribution to a better planet - I could reduce my printing requirements to almost zilch. As much as I like my imac, I just can't curl up on the couch with it.
This would be excellent! I'm a student at the moment, so I'm strapped for cash, but I have an Android 2.2 LG Optimus that I use all the time - I've played around with a friend's iPad thing and I just can't like Apple stuff. Android, on the other hand! Right now I have a laptop, which is all well and good, but it's chunky and heavy and too big to be realistically portable, especially since it's an HP (and if I have it running for more than an hour it shuts down to avoid overheating...) I have to lug around a big cooling pad too. And I'm one of those people who chronically misplace their pens and paper and then forget all about what it was I was going to write down during the hunt for said pens/paper, and Android has some fantastic apps to store/write notes! I'm an enormous study geek and a tablet would come in handy (and much easier to read/write stuff on than my phone)!
