Acer A500 would be a great gagget for me to have. I saw it advertised on the internet and would love to get my hands on it. My old Nokia Internet Tablet N900 is getting sick and just got it's 10 times operation. No idea when it will died but with Acer A500 everything is bigger.

Below is a picture of my disected N900. I welded the USB port back on to the motherboard.

Well unlike my Ipod touch the Acer would at least allow me to look at flash on the net. Sooooo frustrating. It would also hopefully (can't wait to test it though) be able to see my NAS drive so I could watch my latest PVR recordings in bed. Checked one of these babies out at PB tech on Friday and they look the business. Not quite as stylish as the Ipad but still a very nive piece of goods and it dosen't have a horrible Apple interface..I want it give it to me....

I've never owned a tablet so owning this one which looks very nice, would be a new experience for me. Handy for doing all sorts of things. Be nice win win something at last, Lotto last nice was my usual disaster.

I need a tablet! My current rig ranges from "this" to "that" - "this" being a large and heavy laptop that is inconvenient to cart about (especially since the battery died), and "that" being my very small mobile phone with its small screen and even smaller keys! I go online with either of these only with reluctance when not at home.

And I'm such a wanna-be Geek that I cannot work out how to get the picture I've uploaded into my post!  <sigh>

A tablet would be ideal because currently I print out a lot of PDFs for use at university, which really is a waste of paper.. hence my current rig:

plus viewing pdfs on my iphone doesn't cut the mustard

I really need one, then I can stop worrying that I'm wearing my SGS out.

I have a Nokia n900, which is great. It is a linux tablet computer and phone all in one. Unfortunately, my eyes aren't what they used to be, so an A500 would be ideal for me.

Cannot get picture into post.

I have this unbranded Android device from DHgate (China).  It (allegedly) has  Samsung guts but the screen is disappointing.  I bought it to use when traveling but mainly use it as an eReader now so teh Acer would be great!

I'm a student heading off on a world trip in 2 months. It'd be awesome to be able to carry books etc in PDF instead of lugging dead trees around, as well as keeping in touch with family while I'm away. My current rig is a paper and pen and a stack of Lonely Planets guides!

I desperately need an Acer Iconia. My son came to stay...........and stayed. He has killed my most awesomely favorite 1st edition 3G iPhone (see above pic) and is now demolishing my laptop. I promise faithfully to protect my new Acer with my life and never let it out of my sight. It will have its own little bed in the form of a black leather silk lined (cushioned of course) case with silver studs. It will reign supreme in my life. :D

ps, couldnt find the pic preview button so if this fails.. it still counts. lol

My rig

Yes, it may seem complicated to the average buck, but the fact of the matter is... it is far to complex for just simple things like browsing the web or checking emails! I need something that i can just sit down on the couch and use and not have to deal with a tiny screen on a smart phone, which doesn't seem to agree with my manly fingers... so this tablet would be perfect! Surprised

While my p910 (orginally p800) is reliable and does everything (ssh / web (Opera), encrypted folders, ogg/mp3 and barely video, the screen has been scraped away to the point that it's almost unuseable.  Besides, it's an evil Sony phone.  :)

Hi
Thanks for the oportunity.
I need an Acer Icinia A500 so I can accompany "her indoors" in the evening but not have to be brain washed by her TV program selection. I'm sure I will find it to be a very useful and entertaining device.

I have an ACER 8920g which, athough a laptop is rather cumbersom (with it's 18.5 " HD screen) and it's invariably hooked up to too many peripherals in the office. It would most likely be set to record some Terestrial FreeView anyway.

Had a bit of troubled loading a pix , so flagged it.

Regards,  Keith

I was evaluating a rugged device running Android.
IIRC, it's in the top draw of my desk. Little hard to get a photo of it at the moment.

Would be good to have a new test platform. As you can probably imagine, replacing gear is taking time.
