1. I am a kindle user - which is a greatest ebook reader IMHO (other threads please) - so this would not replace it as an ebook reader. What it would replace is the things the kindle doesn't do well - such as read magazines and be a quick reference web browser when you don't go to your desk or power up the laptop.
2. I am also musician and looking for a portable music reference library that can host a range of documents and apps. Again something I had hopes for for the kindle. But displaying music is not its strength. And also running apps is still in early stages of development.
I have no tablet at present but have a ZTE Blade android phone which is awsome but is too small for all the web browsing I try to do at home with the kids and wife taking over the computer in the evening.
I currently own a Palm Centro that does my everything when I'm not home which is often as I'm a travelling salesman and this is just about (12monts or so) due for an upgrade
Looking at the name of this little tablet reminds me of another computer that I wanted back in the 80's called the Acorn Archimedes A500. Wonderful computer with an great operating system.
I would love to win this tablet as ever since my tech savvy 5yo daughter discovered my laptop and the mighty world of online educational games we are one computer short in our household and somehow daddy draws the short straw so am limited to my smartphone for web duties :(
Our old Acer TravelMate is facing a re-incarnation and an Acer Iconia Android tablet seems just the new life it needs - having missed out on The Rapture on Saturday!
I have an Epad ( Zenithink Z180 ) running Android 2.2 and it is a pile of poohs !
Only had it 6 months and the display is munted, battery life is 60 mins max, wireless range is 5 meters and drops out regularly. I seldom use it now - it is too much hassle.
Please send me a new Acer Iconia - If I win I will gladly donate my Epad to the Runner-up !
I once spent $200 on a tablet device at an auction in 1995 because I thought a computer that was 100% touchscreen interface was so cool that any possible operating issues or design shortcomings would be outweighed by the sheer, unadulterated sci-fi-ness look of the device. Sadly, that was only one of many examples of optimism out-punching commonsense over the past 20 years that I have been a gadget freak...
No photos, because I didn't have digital cameras back then, and I sold the device to an 8 year old version of myself for $35 at a garage sale 2 years later...
