Ugh, break a few smart phones over the holidays and you get 'the loaner'.  It's a nokia 6121 with a cracked screen and barely counts as a smart device...  Having a tablet fixes a few on the go problems and keeps the pregnant wife happy :P

Have always been a fan of Android - to the dismay of all my iPhone/iPad toting family and friends!

My crappy old Asus Z92 Laptop. Keys falling off.

So over non touch-screen keyboards. That may however have something to do with the crumbs underneath Foot in mouth

We would love to have the Acer. It looks like an awesome device & much more suited to our needs.

Perfect as my fingers are too big and my eyes are too small for mobile devices

I want one! I don't have any tablet.  Or anything similar.  The only thing I have here is a mobile phone and a pc.

I only have my vodafone phone - at least I can check emails but this little cute Acer would let me do so much more!

I have an old hand me down Sony Vaio for my portable computing needs. Much rage is caused by the faulty touch pad which only seems to go wonky when I need it the most.

I'd use it to create a simple open way of combining augmented reality, panoramic photos and 3D assets (via Unity) so people can create simple animated and immersive environments on their tablets. I'd start with a recreation of the pink and white terraces so when you are on the boat trip at Lake Rotomahana you could see something like this in full 360 degrees immersive glory (note: taken on my cheap android phone). Navigation in a panorama on a touchscreen poses some interesting challenges but can - I hope - be overcome..

Reasons THIS geek girl NEEEEEDDDSSS a tablet:

  • Addicted to the need to be on the net ALL THE TIME!

  • Getting eyesight probs squinting at my wee little Android ph (Sony Xperia X10 MINI Pro)

  • Have NO laptop or Tablet....yet.....

  • It's my birthday this week and this would offset the depression about getting this old!

Check out the size of this weener......

MINI phone and mouse comparison...
