Meridian energies Hayes wind farm is still being blocked by a few who see there interest's as more important that the countries.

It's about time they scraped the resource consent process for green energy production and told the Luddites to pull there heads in, we are going to need a lot more energy in the future,

As oil prices rise production costs go up and at some point it brings down the financial markets, then how do we afford the massive investments in alternative energy, it's no good thinging it will be OK we will do it when we need, by then the horse will have bolted.

I'm not familiar with the issues. Is anyone living out there? Are there environmental concerns? or is it a purely aesthetic objection?

It's on the Lammermoor range, it seems to me more a case of a few locals with contacts that like to stir the pot, from memory one was an artist another an actor, it was a case of not in my backyard, it's a bit since I saw it aired on TV,
