So, now the law is in effect and rights holders can send IPAPs notices, who will be the first to receive one from their ISP?

Post it here!

If there was some sort of legal alternative like HULU or NetFlix here I'd have no problem paying for content but there isn't so I have no problem downloading that which I watch illegally.... So I'll probably be one of the first to get stung unless I can work out some sort of proxy set-up

i found this funny espc the p2p users comments.. caused even more to download it and spread it

http://torrentfreak.com/23322-expendables-downloaders-accused-in-bittorrents-biggest-lawsuit-110510/

now I read this.. and wonder how NZ is going to go with the law

http://torrentfreak.com/the-expendables-makers-dismiss-massive-bittorrent-lawsuit-110825/

p2p law dont cover rapidshare I read in another post here cos right holders can get it removed
unlike p2p but I say people will be careful still and use vpn if they download something
they might suspect is copyright.. after all sometimes you dont know
until you downloaded it!

nope blocking soft *useless but good for filtering out sharers sharing bad file chunks
trying to waste your bandwidth it
wont hide your ip.. vpn in another country will.. 100s all sharing the same ip

I guess its easy for a russian etc to buy servers in various countries and offer slots for a fee

all they could do is keep shutting down the servers and like the torrent sites just setup base in another country

I'm surprised that the first one hasn't been issues.. Actually I'm surprised the first couple of hundred haven't been issued.. Oh well perhaps it won't be such a big deal after all.

I think the first to get one will be a business... something in local or central government. A Public Library or a Government Department.

OK... soo back on Topic.

I'll vote for Paul Brislen.
C'mon Paul, get Tuanz to take one for the team. (An outfit with the street cred to challenge it.) Before some poor solo Mum, who most likely will be the first to reach 3 strikes, has to wear her heart on 7pm TV and drive us all nuts.

As soon as you start paying, especially with a credit card, it becomes very easy to identify the users on a VPN.
