Just bought a laptop battery from global-battery.co.nz
15 days to arrive from China (I did not expect it instant)
Faulty on arrival (wont charge)
Excellent Price :)
Good service by email.

They want it shipped back to China before replacement and its not worth it to as it was only $NZ75
Hey thats life and i did this with my eyes open and trying to save about $70 bucks based on cheapest ones in NZ and they are all made in China anyway.

Just posting this so if anyone looking for batteries and come accross global-battery.co.nz they will realise its not a NZ company.

Back to NZ based suppliers I guess. sigh!!

I bought my laptop battery from www.dealextreme.com, it failed a few months after it arrived. They replaced it and gave me a store credit for the postage (I had the option of a Paypal refund of the postage too).

Recently got a laptop PSU that went "pop" when first plugged in. They just replaced it, didn't even ask for it to be returned.

So there are definitely some in China better than others.

Post it back?

EDIT, just jumped on that site and my anti spyware fired up to say the site is a known spyware site.

Might yet post it back but they want registered post.

We live in the middle of nowhere so needs a trip to town or the rural postie will need some instructions to NOT spend over x $ in returning it and as nice as he is he has to follow NZPost rules re batteries and overseas items being declared properly.

First rule is always to stay on sides with your RD postie as they do so much for you. We have a wonderful one :) He deserves is 6 pack every Christmas.

The bargain is always a lure even though you know there is a risk :)

I still believe in "most" people being good but know that is not true everywhere espacially the internet and some oversaes countries.
