Okay, so it's not quite the James Randi Million Dollar Paranormal Challenge, but this will probably end up the same, ie: no proof.

BurningBeard: Oldish news, but - MUFON head quits, calls UFOlogy humans deceiving humans. Of course hardcore believers think he was payed off, or a government shill.

Enjoyed the kiwi connection - post war experiments off Whangaparoa peninsula (on Auckland's north shore) trying to generate man made tsunami.

Here's the link to the actual MUFON paper:

http://docs.google.com/viewer?url=http://scilib.ucsd.edu/sio/hist/Carrion_New%2520Avenues.pdf

The US suffered huge casualties in WWII taking pacific atolls from die-hard Japanese defenders. After the action, someone in NZ with experience of coral blasting had an idea that small tsunami (to overwhelm the atolls) could be generated using explosives and had a team doing experiments in Whangaparoa.

Some of the conspiracy sites are hosting the declassified report of the tests and many are claiming this 'proves' the boxing day tsunami was man-made.

Yeah, next to nifty youtube videos, de-classified documents seem to be a favourite "smoking gun" for CTists, especially if it's got blanked out bits on it.

Somebody talked about maybe doing something once = they did it and they're still doing it.
A patent exists for something = it's in operation and they're using it on us all right now.

I'd like to see mythbusters give it a go sometime. Guarantee the ending would be - 'in order to generate a wave of that magnitude either [very large number] tons of TNT would be needed or a nuclear explosion of [x] megatons which would be easily detected' - but getting there with crazy experiments along the way would be a fun episode.

Heh, and also that the explosives required would be much more effective if just propelled at / dropped on the target.

I wish you conspiracy guys would add some extra text to your posts and explain something about the links you are posting and why you consider them important, etc, and your interpretation of what they mean.

Also, please learn how to use the youtube tag for videos - experiment by creating a test post in the geekzone topic if you need to try it out.

Also, what makes you think John Key will attend?

The Wikipedia article you linked to was edited to include Key, at almost the same time you posted here, so I'll assume it was you that edited the article to include Key.

All other attendees listed in that article have references, but you forgot to add that information for Key.

Would you care to clarify the reasons you believe Key will attend?

In this day full of conspiracy theories (5G causing coronavirus that is actually a Bill Gates ploy to inject everyone with a microchip disguised as a vaccine but actually a US Democratic PArty hoax that will "magically" disappear after the US elections, supported by flat earthers...)

"Why are people who cite videos always wrong?"

And a study:

"Why do people believe in conspiracy theories?"

Or an article"

"A psychologist explains why people cling to conspiracy theories during uncertainty and after traumatic events"

Disappointed to find that this didn't link to a video.
