HiTM4N: apparently where are no where near the limits of VDSL
something like 150down 100up at 1-2km

You'd need a 30a profile for that. I think you could get close to 100/50 with 17a though.

at 1-2K wouldnt the signal that high be a waste though?

The theoretical limits of combined up and downstream rates are 246 Mbps for 17a and 417 Mbps for 30a. To meet the VDSL2 standard a 17a system must be capable of combined rates of 100 Mbps (200 Mbps for a 30a system). well, sitting at 4CRCPM currently.

will be interesting to see what the report turns later tonight when it is complete..

looks like my SNR has been going nutty however.. ranging from 12-8db..

watching the interface right now, and i can see it ticking from 12 to 11 constantly, first time i have seen it do that on the fly...

so once again, im biting the bullet, having to accept a possible "no fault found fee", which im not too keen to actually accept considering i have had techs out close on every day or so for the best part of the month, all trying to blame the fault on my own device.

after arguing that point with snap, unfortunately, i had to accept the possible charge of it.. not that i particularly enjoy accepting considering the way visionstream jump to it must be your device, im leaving and not fixing the fault mentality..

unfortunately, i cant get a copy of the report iver, there was mention here that the ISP could provide it upon request, but the snap CSR i spoke to wouldnt/couldnt email a pdf copy of it.. anyone had any joy in getting a copy of it? ild love to have a read over it for my own interest..

on the upside, i have kept a average of about 4 CRCPM all day long, so DLM-1 wont be lost. i have grown quite attached to that 1ms latency.

seems my line is averaging its 11 SNR a fair bit here..

My line at my last place used to do that Hio77, and while it didn't perform as well as this one, there were no major issues with it.

(I was referring to the odd graph behavior btw). I do think there is something wrong on your line tho.

The odd graph behaviour is almost certainly a bug in the webpage rather than anything to do with the line.

ah ok, had to ask.. i have seen the graphs do that before, but not to the extremities that mine are doing..

i agree, theres something rather wrong with my line, i have stood by that from the start...

problem is, getting visionstream to deal with it, their favorite thing to do is resetting DLM and saying your line will be profiled and fixed now.

i suspect my next week will be filled with dealing with techs avoiding the problem..

Yeah, you seem to be having a lot of issues, most of them with poor personal service!!

If it were me I'd be pushing it up the chain pretty seriously by now!

it was pushing it up the chain that got to this point.

sending my fritz back put a spanner in the works, instead of it being a 24 hour thing, ended up being sent monday night.. arrived at snap tuesday morning... after 2 phonecalls to check, managed to get a csr who put it on the test bench.

tests came back as perfectly fine, had to wait for my chance to talk to one of the guys who do tests on the fritz to make contact..

when speaking to him, he looked over everything, looking over my findings.. decided something looks a bit odd and agreed to send a new one out, despite requests to just send the device out unconfigured, later it was decided it would wait till the next day to go and get configured.

courier didnt ship it to auckland friday night like they should have, so it wasnt till monday that the modem actually arrive... but there was a bag sent for my old modem. a spot of miss communication seemed to have gone on there.

if theres one thing that is clear at this point, almost every CSR i speak to, sees our account and knows the fault off the bat... kinda feel like the hot potato that nobody wants to go near!

once chorus follows up the fault tomorrow, ill get a reference number, and start shoving it through visionstream again with the CSR i spoke to who was escalating the fault until a tech closed it (they have no access to the ticket at that point but the fault shows as not closed off completely to snap, causes a spot of confusion.)

atleast CPE is well in truly counted out now (rates im getting are inline with what i was getting with dans fritz), and we have a connection thats pretty useable and isnt needing a loan for any sizeable amount of data!

on the upside, i have a device again! i can work on my tool ;)
