SamF: Hmm, I'm currently sitting at round 2 CPCPM...

That said, I didn't bother dropping my SNRM tweak this time.  Maybe that has something to do with it.  SNRM is currently 8.

should drop back down, how long have you been waiting?

last time i dropped down it took exactly a month before dlm dropped down again, could be in for simply a longer wait.

Huh, maybe they've upped the time required for a stable line?  Used to be 2 weeks like clockwork.

Long time no see :p Last time mine dropped to DLM2 (which was a long time ago) I think it was 6+ weeks before I got back onto DLM1, despite very low error rates.

Hey man :)

Heh, that's the only problem with things like these, you think you have all the rules worked out and then they get changed (without you knowing)!

Ok, I'll be a bit more patient then :)

For the record, until recently my line was extremely stable (50mbits sync,-4db tweak) for nearly 3 months without a single resync, but then *something* happened and I've had much higher error rates ever since, which is a bit odd.

Yup patience is always good.

Make sure you don't have any street lights failing in your street, lol - if you recall ages ago I had massive error rates every night for about a week  and finally figured it might be the flickering street lamp just a couple of houses down.  Phoned the council, they replaced it the next day and my error rates dropped straight back down. Probably quite unlikely though...

More likely just increased uptake of VDSL and crosstalk, etc? Mine was steadily climbing and sync rates dropping for quite a while - it finally seems to have settled on 29/10.

Hehe, yeah, I remember that!  My errors aren't as regular as that however.

Could be just increased VDSL uptake, but it was oddly sudden.

Interesting error drop off yesterday:

I suspect that there is some kind of frequency / noise suppression technology at play here, I've see this kind of thing before.  I almost think that allowing some level of errors may result in a cleaner line over the long term...

Pretty sad sight. My brothers new Snap! installation.

Figure it's internal wiring, might have to get a technician out.

My neighbourhood had a scheduled outage, and my modem must have been the first in line to connect again without pesky interference with others, shot up from 30 to 38 megabit!

Too scared to reset incase I lose it again.

why would you reset it?

the ISP wouldnt schedule an outage during the day either unless it was an emergency, and even then in post cases they wait till the next early morning

Sorry, for clarity, it was a power outage.

just careful with error rates, DLM might do the rest for you otherwise.

as for your brothers line, attenuation before upgrade? Master filter installed?
