Well survived another night on DLM1... That means I've been sitting on DLM1 for at least 60 hours on this sync and possibly up to 71 hours back to when I was upgraded.

My stats are pretty steady and I have avoided causing any resyncs myself. I wonder if that's why DLM is happy leaving me on DLM1 for the moment...?

Well no resync last night either... Perhaps DLM is happy leaving me on DLM1 because my SNRM is a steady 11-12db and I'm not forcing resyncs myself.

Looking at the graphs I seem to be overing anywhere between 40-70 CRC errors every hour so an average of 0.66-1.16 CRCPM.

Yeah, I'd leave it alone too. I think DLM sometimes pre-selects a new profile but doesn't force a resync, I'd be interested to know if you change profile next time you do resync for whatever reason. Otherwise hopefully you'll be on DLM-1 for a least a month.

You won't stay on DLM-1 permanently with that CRC rate tho, we have historical evidence to prove that!

Oh true!?? Ok, I take that back! However, we have seen others on 1 CRCPM who don't stay on DLM-1, so it's not guaranteed!

Then again, your sync rate is very low for VDSL so maybe there's some correlation with that?

EDIT: Interesting error pattern!

Check out these errors boys and girls :)

2x Fritz boxes tested, Pair change already preformed as the previous one had 32v coming down one leg.
Only thing left is ISAM port change I suppose.
Distance is 500m from cabinet, Custom service lead run from street.

Happy days!

And you are still on DLM1 lol go figure.

A Line attenuation of 15 seems to be a lot for only 500m. Have you tried connecting the router directly into the demarc to remove the internal wiring of your house as the problem.

Still haven't had a re-sync from the day I was upgraded. Still the same stats... Still on DLM1...

So either DLM isn't particularly active on my line or it just doesn't care about a CRCPM of 1 when SNRM is a steady 12.

Meanwhile I dare not reboot the router haha.

Interesting. I was expecting a resync around now but it hasn't happened yet. My errors also pretty bad:

But the line has been up 26 days now and I haven't had a DLM resync since the 28th of Sept.

Interesting! Maybe they've tweaked the allowable error rate for DLM1?

Well... I got swapped to DLM-1 last this morning.  My CRCPM rate was 12 however :/  I've upped the SNRM to 16 and my CRCPM is now ~1, but of course I've lost quite a bit of speed:

Going on previous results I'd be expecting to drop from DLM-1 pretty soon, but based on what's been seen in the last 2 weeks with DLM stable even at 42 CRCPM, I'm not so sure now!  I think there is a possibility that Telecom have tweaked the maximum error rate for DLM-1!  Maybe they were playing it cautious to start with and now they're trying out less strict error limits?

I might see if I can get my router swapped out in any case, because the loan fritz did considerably better with the error rate than my current one!

How's everyone else on DLM-1 and high error rates going since last week?

Possibly. Or maybe other factors were causing the downgrades before. I was on DLM-1 for all of August with about 3 CRC/min.

Still on DLM-1 with about 2 CRC/min. If it stays like this for another week I'm going to put intended SNRM back to max performance (I've got it down on the middle notch at the moment).

Yeah, but your line always seems to act differently to everyone elses!

I suspect people with my sort of line behaviour just don't report it here. There are certainly a number of people who posted once about going on to DLM-1 but haven't posted since. Perhaps they all have perfect error rates, but I suspect that's unlikely given the variation we've seen on our own lines.
