LWJCarroll: No thanks, I had a run in with them over just looking at adsl ISP's.....the REANNZ one covers all ISP's and technologies so in my view is more balanced in its reporting. Rgds.....Laurie

serious?..Yes I am in that when I volunteered to do testing for them using my wireless connection, I got back a rather rude, arrogant and biased reply.   Not what I was expecting. He confirmed they only do ADSL testing. So hence my view that they are offering a biased "Broadband Report" especially as they don't appear to qualify it with this info....Laurie

John isn't comparing every single persons' connection - he uses volunteers from ISPs with sufficient numbers to be able to draw some sort of relative conclusion about the performance of the ISPs.

Maybe he didn't phrase it perfectly, but it makes little sense to include essentially unique users when you're trying to create a dataset from which you can compare ISP performance, both over time, and to each other.

Cheers - N

freitasm: I am on HFC and have a Truenet router. Their results clearly separate DSL from HFC.

What kind of connection you have that they didn't want to test?

He's probably got Dial up lol

No like I said...I have a wireless connection (with Compass Communications)... but as I said the replies tone and manner was such that I wouldn't be interested in volunteering for them again nor have any interest in their so called Broad Band reports....Laurie
