RalphFromSnap: Hi everyone
Great news – and just confirming what a few others have already said – Chorus have confirmed that we’ll be able to provide our awesome Snap UFB services (check out our current plans here) into BOF subdivisions as of 1st April 2013, so less that 50 days to go until you’re finally free to choose providers!! Keep checking back here as we’ll be launching a red hot promo closer to the time!!
Cheers ^AL

Which subdivision are you moving to? Are you certain it's BOF and not UFB already? I know of at least one subdivision where the more recent stages skipped BOF and went straight to UFB.

Depends on the subdivision stages. For instance we are moving into Soverign Palms Kaiapoi which is still in development stage but lots pre-existing
Soverign palms Stages 1 to 7 = WxC
Soverign Greens stages 1a to 3 = Snap
steve98: To be fair, Maverick, nobody enjoys being in a stranglehold with a company that is clearly capitalizing on their monopoly-by-default position. Just look at the flak Telecom used to get for the same thing. Yes, good on you for being the only company to step up to the plate with BoF, but that doesn't mean to say that the people at the mercy of your pricing will feel any less stung by the experience. I expect the churn rates post April 1st will tell whether it was all worth it.

maverick: Its the world of competition and people demand choice but something to remember if it actually wasn't for WxC fiber fed subdivisions for the last 5 years would have had nothing !!!.

And to the one or two of the soap box people here I seriously am glad you will have a choice I really am

I'm pretty sure that without your service my house just would have copper wire and I would be able to use ADSL2 broadband like all other Internet users.

. That pricing difference has certainly caused frustration, particularly with high use customers (vgamail would vouch for that). .
maverick: Has only ever elected Low speed (Voice only) option only has never elected for anything else even when new plans where offered with no contract, plans are comparable to the other offerings from other providers.
