Has only ever elected Low speed (Voice only) option only has never elected for anything else

Before Wxc my usage was about 100 GB with ADSL speed because of me and 2 my teenage children. With WxC rule "eat as much as you can and pay for it" I can't control Internet usage effectively and so I selected "Basic Internet" option.

Now Maverick calls it "Voice only", but 1.5 year ago he called it "Fusion VLSI".

even when new plans where offered with no contract, plans are comparable to the other offerings from other providers.

I will never sign any new contract with WxC

As always, sick of people who complain about this situation. Wonder how they would feel if WxC went out of business.......

Yes, but will you switch to a more suitable plan?

I don't know how you think you would have had copper when Telecom had made the decision to no longer deploy it in new subdivisions

If nobody would promised service, they would maintain new houses like all others houses. They can't  just keep thousands of customers without Internet and phones.

I still can't control the limit of usage with WxC. Current WxC functionality is not suitable for this:

"Once capped you are locked to Xnet sites/Services only, it's not speed restricted to 64k/64k.  You can however change the datacap via the Xport portal to continue using the service without any browsing restrictions."

I can't keep my children out of Internet and give them access only to Xport web-site. Children need Internet for study.

Plus I try to reduce my payment to WxC as much as I can. That's all what I can do for them.

Had WxC not been around and Telecom's IMS offering had launched you would have found that Telecom would have been the only provider, since no other ISP's chose to offer BoF services for the entire duration of the trial.

So going by that screenshot, you are at a BoF subdivision, and not paying for any cable based internet service. Just the base $45/mnth phone plan?

Once again.
There are new plans for fibre phone/data at a new rate with more data, and no contract terms. And as far as I know you can migrate to them to complete the rest of your tied contact..

http://www.wxc.co.nz/great-value-plans/

For $20 more than that baserate, you can get 5gb and a few more phone features.

Wrong. I have cable based Internet service Fusion VLSI and with this slow speed Internet my usage is about 20 GB (only voice! Ha-ha). Could you estimated usage for high speed connection?

For 30 Mbps connection I will have 5 (FIVE) gb limit! It's a very sophisticated mockery. Like I got "Ferrari with only a litre of fuel"

Then I'm confused. Why all the moaning about being in a BoF area if you have shared copper services already and are perfectly happy.

Some price comparisons that interest me for my usage and price point for the 30/10 speed (~40 GB is a typical month; maybe I'd use more if I had a bigger cap):

Snap: 50 GB, $75.00

Worldnet: 45 GB, $75.00

Orcon: 30 GB, $75.00

Xnet: 40 GB, $79.95

I'm locked into contract with Xnet until later this year with this BOF stuff (unless I wanna pay a break fee), but at this point, the other ISPs' UFB offerings aren't that much better.

New plans and prices will come out for sure as time goes on, but right now, Xnet's pricing isn't horribly absurd like it used to be.

Exactly as now we have access to the UFB pricing model, before we were not !, this would have applied to whoever was supplying services to the BOF however no one was capable of it and it was locked into a single provider for the duration of the POC.

If we prod Maverick again.. he may be able to confirm.

But from reading the new plan release thread I got the idea you can switch to one of those new ones with the same priceband (IE more features or data) and live out the rest of your contact still on that.

Maverick?

I wasn't on a contract originally when I first got BOF connected, but when these new plans came out recently I had to agree to a 1-year term to switch to them.
