Hey guys,

Just wanting some data from the community for a small presentation I am doing for Uni.

If you could post your before and after sync rates - master splitter install , that would be great.
Thanks a lot !

I can't find my screenshots to give you data like attenuation etc, but before we were cabinetized many many years back, we had a 3.5km link to the exchange. DIY installing a central splitter took the line rate from 2200 to 4000.
Bypassing old wiring and the Sky TV installation splicing up the phone jacks makes all the difference.

Might pay to read my post on wiring and the associated threads on cabling. There are probably 10 or 15 results that would have been posted here in the last month or so.

Here goes
Using Draytek Vigor 120

With Interleaving turned on. No master splitter:
DS Actual Rate: 17110912 bps
US Actual Rate: 951433 bps

With Interleaving turned off. No master splitter:
DS Actual Rate: 17900977 bps
US Actual Rate: 1048000 bps

With Interleaving turned off. DIY master splitter:
DS Actual Rate: 18420773 bps
US Actual Rate: 1272000 bps

Had 5 seconds of stress when my DS dropped to 8040 kbps. Loop Atn dropped from 11 to 3. Tried a different cable from the wall to the modem and received the above results.

Dynamix xdsl filter installed with new cat5e from the splitter to the wall jack.
