I'm only guessing, but based on the fact that freitasm has said 'next week' a few times now, my money is on next week. Foot in Mouth

I will probably send out an email Friday so you folks can think about it and on Monday I will open up to the world.

Well, I am definately interested in this secret project that only several thousand GeekZone members, and an entire ISP, know about, so please include me in the mailout.

I'm hoping it's something amazing, a real first for New Zealand, like cheap fast uncapped broadband. That works. But I'd settle for something simple, like being able to 3D-print a working Bugatti Veyron.

EDIT: Spelling and some formatting (why does the strikethrough text option not seem to work?)

Strike doesn't work because the editor uses span tags and those are removed. But you can use BBCODE.

I don't know if it's an entire ISP that knows about it, but certainly some people do.

Surprised hasn't leaked yet.

Good point, you would think I should be able to use BBCode (except "color" apparently?), seeing as I spend half my day writing HTML...

Supported BBCODE tags.

Ah, thanks. Didn't notice that. A basic, but useful, subset.

Back on topic: Looking forward to finding out what the announcement will be. There have been some interesting suggestions so far, some of which I'd certainly vote for.

Geekzone Mobile and crowdsourced funding to take part in the 700mhz spectrum auction. Also every GZ member will have to erect a cell site in their backyard.

I believe Mauricio has picked Don Gould to run the new network, given his visionary ideas on how a provider should operate it seems like the perfect pick.

It was leaked back here: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=49&topicid=116764&page_no=13#821813
