I can see these marks on my neighbours front lawn in front of the fence, across my lawn (thankfully they didn't paint my driveway), to a power pole, then across the road. Anyone know what they are? They seem to more or less follow where some overhead wires go, but not exactly.

Are they UFB related? Power related?

Correct orange is power looking that it points to a pole quite possibly High Voltage ie. 11kv

And could be ufb or anyone else who would be thrusting in the area

Thanks guys. So they're power, but any idea why they're on my lawn.

This probably means that UFB is coming to your area soon. Chorus gets B4UDig to mark out all services before they begin work. I think the power companies also come and mark their services too. This is all so that they don't break anything.

They marked all of the underground services up and down our culdesac before they put the UFB in. So could be UFB related.

UFB is already available here, at least according to the online map. They dug up the roads a few months back. I haven't gotten it yet, trying to work out where to put the modem and router.

I don't know of any underground services under there, and I've had a digger thingy dig up that lawn pretty thoroughly.

Your power lines could possibly be going underground or the city could be replacing some water mains if UFB is already in the area.

That'd be nice, undergrounding the power cables. It'd be nicer if they'd done it before I replanted my lawn for the third time recently...

Could be about to redo your footpaths or curb? We had multiple colours sprayed all over our lawn/footpaths and driveway for UFB (we are on a corner so have 3 long stripes of roadside lawn) and than new ones sprayed several months later by the council while the were redoing the curbs... they've left the street side an absolute wreck :-/

Edit: forgot to mention this involved digging up and/or wrecking the vast majority of the lawn first to lay out new storm water pipes

I guess I'll find out sooner or later. I could ask the council I guess.

timmmay: I guess I'll find out sooner or later. I could ask the council I guess.

Pop by your local council service centre, tell them your street name and ask them if there are any planned works about to commence and what does it mean for you.
They will have the information !

Or you could just email or phone them too.

I'll try that, since I have to tell them about a tree down anyway, thanks.

Try digging there to see, might be a treasure chest!

(I accept no responsibility if you hit 11kV cables instead)
