Hi Fellow Geekzoners,

After being a happy customer of Slingshot for 19 months I decided to switch to Telecom. Here is why:

  1. Telecom offered 80 GB for $75 a month. I pay Slingshot $85 for 50 GB. That's 30 GB more for $10 less.

  2. Telecom offered a FREE WiFi Router cum modem. I am aware I need to commit to Telecom for at least 12 months.

  3. There is nothing really so wonderful about Slingshot. Their service is good but they don't offer new offers for existing customers, I reckon.

  4. Lastly, I wanted to help the Telecom salesman who knocked my door.

Sharing this news hoping that few people might benefit from the Telecom's offering.

Have a great time.

Thanks for your information. However I might not need one. Will keep this thread in mind should I need to replace a filter.

Coffeebaron may be able to clean up that cum modem while he is there.

Oh, but you will need a master splitter. Don't fool yourself, those things make a lot of difference. And if you go VDSL then even more.

I think this master splitter thingy is interesting. More speed is always good but I need to first do the cost benefit analysis.

I will check the speeds I am getting with Telecom with standard setup. With Slingshot I get ~ 12-14 Mbps down and ~ 1 Mbps up which is good for my home use.
