Downstream line attenuation (dB) 11

there we are! so thats not too bad!

not quite the prequal, but those arent always accurate!

for 11dB thats a pretty decent sync, as i said before, i predict your speed will drop over the next few months as crosstalk increases.

That is a great result.

How did you get Telecom to agree to do the install. They just say no to me, and I reckon I'm in the same boat as you - prequal says attenuation too high. I am about 800m of cable from the exchange I think.

I think waiting for Fibre is my best bet (Chorus say March next year).

What are your ADSL Stats also you maybe only 800m from an exchange but that doesn't always equate to cable length

Nothing I did knowingly (except harass Telecom over the phone for an explanation). First Chorus rings me to say the install is off and that I should send the modem back, a few days later Chorus rings me to say the technician will be there tomorrow???

But you might use my case to argue your way into having an installer come on site. Prequal gave 5-13 dB, the line check gave 18, and after the install it turned out to be 11. So the morale seems to be that they really don't know for sure unless they try...

Waiting for fibre where I live (west Auckland)? Not in my lifetime... ;-)
