Today  the street in front of our house was dug up and the outer sheathing for the fibre cable was flopped into the trench and the laterals feed to a connection box just inside the boundry.
This work is in Ilam Christchurch done by Enable. Transfield are the Subcontractors doing the work.
Enables site states UFB will be available in our street from August 2015. Does that mean that it will take nearly eight months from trenching to me being able to use it ?
No official notification was received first in the mail that this work was being done, the diggers just turned up a couple of days ago.
Can anyone else who has gone onto UFB in Christchurch say what there wait time was from starting work  in street to final install in house.
