i am a gamer/farmers son so we don't have access to vdsl or anything like that an our spark connection is absolute rubbish slower than 82 percent of New Zealand, so ADSL is out of the question as our cabinet is old and rubbish and they have no further plans to upgrade, but i would probably try and get some kind of wireless available rural i know this is a pricey option but i need this sorted any help be appreciated !

Hi Josh,

You wont be able to get 4G out in Okato, we can offer you a wireless connection starting at $49 with 10mbit download, 5mbit upload and a much lower ping.

Give us a call on 0800 123 774 or email us helpdesk@primowireless.co.nz

We will need to do a signal test, but we have hundreds of customers in coastal Taranaki, ask your neighbours, they are likely connected with us.

Cheers,

Matt

Although its a pain, you could keep your Adsl connection for Bulk downloads and use a RBI connection for the rest.

Even at 2.8mbit, you still can pass close on a TB a month if your pushing it..

Sure it costs a bit, but atlest overusage fees wouldnt be as bad.

To the OP, what is you actual connection sync speed like?, do you speeds improve at really off peak times ( 3-4 in the am), [ although up that way at that time all the cockies will be up, probably streaming OITNB :)

No speed increases, always the same, in game ping will be at 100+ for about 2 minutes and then will spike to 900, and pages randomly crash giving me the router not plugged in message we've had techs out and ive emailed spark numerous times and its because of the cabinet we are on is prone to congestion

If you're on a Conklin, it means you and all your neighbours (up to 60 of them) are sharing a 8Mbps link, hence the slow speeds.
