I previously had Caller-ID on ADSL which gave me calling number with date and time of call.

 

 

Since changing to fibre I only get calling number. My ISP has referred the problem to the modem manufacturer but I have waited 8 months with no solution in sight.

 

 

Do others get the full service and if so who is the ISP.

What brand/model is your phone (with Caller Display on it)?

Full service with Spark. They use the ONT, not the modem for voice calls.

 

I used Voip quite a few years ago and got date and time with caller ID, so it is capable of it.

So were you running VoIP on your ADSL connection, or POTS?

It was POTS with the ADSL. I was wondering if this was a common problem on UFB VOIP ?

What part of the country are you in? My parents on Spark UFB (with homeline in a chorus zone) have caller ID working with their uniden handsets

Who's your provider? What hardware?
I've done VoIP with multiple providers and not had this issue. It is not the norm.

So just confirming the issue. It's not that you don't get caller id... it's that it doesn't indicate the date and time.

My dect phone has the time set in the handset. So any caller id has the time of the handset.

Not what I would expect. Previously the date and time definitely came from transmission as shown when Orcon didn't update with daylight saving.

As far as I understand Caller ID as a standard, it's only number or directory name + number transmitted, everything else is the job of your CPE (in this case, your cordless).

Caller ID should come with a Date and Time as many phones actually use it to update the daylight savings just by correcting the time on each occasion an update comes with an incoming call.
