OK so no overlap and the WAP is on a really clear channel so that's good.  VDSL router channel has some traffic, about 3.5 stars out of 5. 

Also I wanted to say thank you all so much.  People like me who don't know anything about technical stuff find it really difficult dealing with any kind of technology.  And worst of all, its changing all the time and what worked last year doesn't work this year which is really frustrating but inevitable. 

No doubt when everyone else has installed vdsl, I'll need to upgrade to fibre next year so I will be back asking more dumb questions.
