I installed a VDSL2 connection this week that sync and delivers 100Mbps - a speedtest was limited to 94Mbps due to the VDSL2 modem in use only having a 100Mbps port.

Upstream is currently sitting at 38Mbps so it's going to be interesting to observe this in coming weeks to see how much closer to 50Mbps it can get.

I've noticed the upstream at that rate can be heavily modem dependant.

It's with a TP-Link at present but will be moving to a DV130 when I next head back on site.

I wonder if your rate will stay constant with that FEC count

I noticed that we're on different VDSL firmware as well - that you're running one of the G.Vectoring ones. When I ran the "NZ & AU recommended" G.Vector one it dropped my speed significantly

The Error rate data it seems to have kept from before the resync, does this after a reboot and Factory reset also
Only keeps upload data, DL gets reset every resync
Before the resync last night the FEC count on DL was over 9million, doesn't seem to affect the ddDLM sync any, probably due to the errors being corrected on the fly

Also never had a Saturday morning resync either, always Tuesday and Thursday mornings

I use FW MDM4 at the moment, seems most stable, MDM8 can give higher upload but also more CRC's
STD FW is rubbish as error reporting doesn't work.

Well I just switched to the same m4 firmware again now that my ddDLM has put me on the better profile, and now my attainables have jumped even more.

Damn this Ikanos card tongue-out

I wonder if your Downstream connection is limited to this ?
Are you running a lower powered connection ?v(@Hio77) will know more about this
Mine is
DS actual PSD : 9. 0 dB

But 125Mbps attainable is crazy fast with 11db Attenuation

@Jarsky:

Nice improvements in ur line stats. I've noted your FW comments.

I understand you are using a DV130.

I'm using the latest version - 3.8.1.2_STD because I understood that G-vectoring was not used in NZ

What do you mean by MDM4 and MDM8?

Below is a copy of Drayteks FTP for DV130 and FW 3.8.1.2 and options for all Modems
I use Modem 4, Modem 8 has higher upstream connection but for me pushes the connection too far and get more CRC errors

@Jarsky:

OK - makes sense now. I was looking at the webpage for DV130 downloads and I couldn't see the ~modem_8 option. However, I see it references that file when I scroll over the ~modem_NBN download.

The DV130 download page now recommends the ~modem_4 FW for NZ and Aus, so things seemed to have changed from when I looked at this a couple of years ago.

(I think when I did my first FW update a year or 2 ago, I relied on some guidelines from Snappernet. This time round I just replaced an earlier version of the STD FW with the latest version)

Wow!, I had actually given up on ever getting better than 8B and 72/13 out of my rural location and did a random speed test yesterday just to confirm nothing had changed.

Tonight, I decided to check the Draytek 130 just to see if any of the stats had changed and it must have jumped this morning up to a 17A profile.

I am seriously impressed with the current sync and will be a very unhappy camper if DLM comes back and takes away my new toys:

Before I got the 17a profile the day before I had tried shorting out the dsl cable by exposing the 2 wires from an old dsl cable plugging it into the modem and the master splitter then waited for a connection then shorted them which did nothing exept limit our download speed to 10 mbps for a short period but the next day I found out that we were put to the 17a profile, I don't know if this was related to me shorting the cable.
