I'm having an issue with our VDSL internet. The problem started yesterday with the internet dropping out every 20 minutes or so. We are on Voyager VDSL using a HG659 modem router. We haven't had an issue with it until now which is pretty much a year now..

I have tried a reset of the router and and installing the latest firmware but still no resolve. I rang Voyager and he said he did a port reset.

I'm watching a download Cuphead right now and speeds are all over the place. When the dropout happens it gets progressively slower until it drops down to nothing and disconnects for a minute then back up to between 20 and 40 mbs.

If anyone has any idea about what may be up I would be glad to hear from them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

These threads pop up almost weekly. 99.999995% sure you've got an internal wiring issue just like every other thread on here (See this Google search).

Long answer cut short if you're in the Auckland area send a PM to @coffeebaron and he'll fix it for $150 else ask Voyager to get a master filter installed which should fix it.

My bad. Should have looked harder. Sorry for posting... It's been perfect for a year and then I saw a Chorus guy working in front of my neighbors house yesterday and it's been going crap since then. I bet he's done something.

It is fine - likely he hasn't done anything but there is a slim chance this may. Often the problem is within your own home.

He probably has done something, if only by opening up an aged corroded piece of crap joint when troubleshooting someone elses connection.

heavily increasing trend towards this of late for situations where Frequent disconnections, No DSL or Slow speed faults are concerned...  (on the situation that it was clean BEFORE the damage)

of course he's done something.

Chorus fault volumes drop up to 80% over Christmas when there is no provisioning work done.
