Hi guys

The story is I live in the sleepout of my dads house and the people before us cabled the place up with like telephone extension cable. So I got my mate from chorus to come re-cable my room to the demarc, since then I sync at ADSL2+ and get around 12mbps (2.5km away from exchange).

Now we did the same to the main house for my dads line, but he can still only sync at ADSL1, he has a better router (Draytek Vigor) and he is closer to the demarc than I am. We had a port reset done with our isp but still syncing at ADSL1 and his sync is no where near mine.

Any ideas???

Also try force Draytek into ADSL2+ only mode

Chorus has spent $1.4 billion on making their xDSL broadband network faster. If your still stuck on ADSL or VDSL, why not spend from $150 on a master filter install to make sure you are getting the most out of your connection?

As previous posters have stated, try a different modem or enable DSL2+ mode on your modem.

There could be a possibility that your second line is connected to different broadband equipment or exchange. If thats the case, you may need to wait for the connected equipment to be upgraded to ADSL2+ gear.

Not all ports are changed at the same time in the exchanges, and they may have a adsl1 profile on your dads port even if they have changed the gear hes connected to.

Dont bother hassling the isp about it, none are officially selling adsl2+ so telecom chorus will not do anything about it.
