Hi its your ISP that configures the mode, not Chorus, albeit they do it via Chorus's API or provisioning site.
That router you have, how do you propose to use it for anything other than 1G, as it only has 1G ethernet ports, its true you can LAG them, but I dont believe that feature is available on the ONT/RGW to match it.
I think you need to purchase something a little more up market to gain any use above 1G than that thing.

I was under the impression Orcon didn't configure the hyperfibre ONT to bridge mode, and only supported/allowed it in RGW mode?
Is this not the case?
Edit: Just checked their offer summary. According to this they do allow it: https://help.orcon.net.nz/hc/en-us/article_attachments/900008921246/HYPERFIBRE_8_NAKED.pdf

Orcon has appeared to have contradicted themselves. They don't seem to have a offer summary for the 2Gig plan (here) so it is not explicitly stated, but they do mention on their "Design you own" page that they 'will send a modem if it is required'. This is wrong and must be a typo.
But their offer summary for the 4Gig plan explicitly states 'This ONT will also act as your modem, so you don't need to plug in any additional hardware.'
So no, they (Orcon), do not offer bridged mode.
This page seems to have other offer summaries that indicate otherwise, though: https://help.orcon.net.nz/hc/en-us/articles/900007068443

do you need it as just a router or do you need it to have access point functionality too?
You wouldn't typically connect an ONT in bridge mode directly to a switch (not with your level of knowledge anyway), you would rather connect the ONT to WAN interface on a router, the router LAN side then connects to the switch.
Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

Do you have cabling for access points?
Why do you need more than Gigabit to the access points?
Couldnt you just run a dedicated cable from a Gigabit switch to each access point so each one has dedicated bandwidth? and connect the switch to the Router via a 10gig connection?
@maveric As per your last thread of asking for mesh solutions of which you abandoned I am honestly not sure with what you're wanting to achieve by switching to Hyperfibre without any knowledge on routers, switches or even how to cable things up. This isn't the thread to ask for advise, you've already done that and people gave you advise which you appeared to have ignored.
If you don't know all of this already then you do not need Hyperfibre. You've already made it clear that you're using WiFi and Hyperfibre will not improve that for you.
Please return back to your existing thread to provide more information if required. This isn't the thread to do it in. Seriously, I have no idea why you're wasting your money by signing up...
