Putaruru ETA too? Then I can do a retest!

Chorus has spent $1.4 billion on making their xDSL broadband network faster and even more now as they are upgrading their rural Conklins. If your still stuck on ADSL or VDSL, why not spend $195 on a master filter install to make sure you are getting the most out of your connection?
I install - Naked DSL, DSL Master Splitters, VoIP, data cabling and general computer support for home and small business.

coffeebaron: Gordonton, Waikato (outdoors)

Telecom - signal = excellent

You've managed to beat my record there! 4.46/1.50 in Whakatane, indoors (Telecom).

Beats me in the downstream too, however i have the edge in the upstream :D (my sig) , also indoors. Looks like the Waikato and surrounding regions have good 3G speeds!

My tests were done early November. Has HSPA+ been rolled out yet?

Both Vodafone and Telecom have HPSA+ available with closed trials.

You can't access HSPA+ speeds unless you have a SIM that's authorised.

That will probably be my next years project - when there is a multi band HSPA+ stick available :)

This is really the best I can get, usually it's about .5 to .8 download but about 1.2 upload

Using a Huawei E5832 but I get the same speeds on HP un2400, i'm in Rotorua CBD with good signal strength.

One of the things you'll find is that the route for some of the XT tests is via LA USA. This results in larger latency.

This explains but doesn't justify it. Why is Telecom using these routes in first place, if it's known to result in larger latency?

Telecom just now (2100MHz)

Telecom XT speed test on 2100

And Vodafone (2100MHz)

Vodafone speedtest

Good results from both, using a Qualcomm chipset based device.

Both were "first try" tests by the way.

Hamish – The Twitter site is a difficult to follow as regards what areas have been upgraded and which areas have not been upgraded.
Is there another site that lays out the forecast of what area(s) are due for the upgrade?

Coffeebaron – This is real good stuff.  Thank-you for undertaking this task!
Can you advise where you sourced the Globetrotter GE441 from and how much?

The only disappointment with this card is quite poor signal strength. You need to be in good coverage to use it.
