At home I have a normal DSL modem, then I had a gigabit switch for fast data transfers between my PC and media server at home, then I have a wireless router that plugs in so I can roam with the laptop. 

Is there a product that lets me have all of this in 1 box?  Cause that would be fantastic!!

you could try a belkin N+ router has gigbit, N wireless, and ADSL 2+ or the Double N+ Wireless Router which is the same apart from uses 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz for the wireless

Yeah they do exist and one is I currently use a linksys and although I don;t use this particular model I rate them as good qulaity kit. Think these ones are around $250
