what about GASP from nzwireless? anyone using that?

from what i can work out this requires an external ariel on your house.

but i have heard they are planning to introduce WiMax and have won the bandwith for the entire wellington region for this.

Internet only. I've never used their phone service, as I'm quite happy to use Vodafone for this.

It is the Woosh Phone service that has had all the technical problems. Whenever my phone has gone offline the Internet connection remains unaffected.
