I've got my email and soon my website hosted by Islands and since last night they have been 'off the air'.  They don't have alternative methods of contact i.e phone.  The only point of contact is: support@islands.co.nz.

Anyone know what's happening and any idea when they will be up and running?

You could try contacting Aotea Webhosting, or Aotea Hosting, or Web hosting services. All of these companies appear to be owned by the same registrant. Two of them also happen to be the technical and admin contacts. Though I am not sure on how accurate that phone number is for them.

Many thanks for your information everybody.

The 09 phone number is constantly 'busy' and the 80 number is not known.  I've emailed all the email addresses on WHOIS so I guess I can only wait and see.

Just wondering what options I have with my domain which was registered by Islands if they don't reappear?  My business email traffic goes through this domain so I can't afford to be 'off the air' for too long.

Any thoughts?

UPDATE

Email reply just come in...

"12 hours ago we were informed by the data center that they would be working on the machines to make them faster. this we were told would take 30 minutes.

We are still waiting for any information from them as to what the problem is or what they are doing to correct it.

I apologise for the inconvenience and fully understand how frustrating this is, as our own site and emails down too."

Thats dodgy, they should have had their own tech there in person to take care of contingencies. And the owner of Aotea webhosting is registered in Great Barrier, which might explain a bit.

The fact they were on Fair Go is dodgy enough, let alone their poor looking website. Fair Go actulally showed that it is all run out of the UK, so they aren't even in NZ. Jump ship mate, and quickly, is what I suggest. PM me if you want help moving to the web host I am with.
