I'm experiencing a massive slowdown in bandwidth through Actrix in the past few days, and am wondering if anyone with a better knowledge of the net can shed light on possible causes?

I'm in Christchurch, connected to an ADSL2+ cabinet, and have been getting ballpark 800kbps throughput from international sites until a couple of days ago my non-local connection speeds became bizzare.

I'm using a USR9108 router with nothing/no-one else using the connection during the tests, and Actrix tech support have so far been unable to explain the situation.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Uhm... nevermind. As inexplicably as the problem occured, it has now resolved. Still no idea what caused it, but that is in the nature of things.

Seems to be no way to delete the original post either.

A number of people on different ISPs were having issues in Chch recently. Sounds like backhaul out of chch causing issues.
